Every year the Center for Industrial Development’s Quality Control Committee, part of the National Society of Industry, holds an awards ceremony to honor companies in education, production and service providers that have certified quality control systems.

This year Perurail Cargo, the cargo division of Perurail S.A., received three important recognitions for the certification of the bimodal transportation of minerals in the region of Arequipa.  The bimodal system has the quality certification ISO 9001, the environmental certification ISO 14001 and the safety and occupational health certification OHSAS 18001.

The National Society of Industry hosts “Quality Control Week” every year in October to present the National Quality Control Award in Peru.  They also award companies that have achieved important recognitions throughout the year in order to stimulate the development of quality control in Peru.  The Quality Control Committee is comprised of universities, business trade, public and private organizations that are in charge of Quality Control Week and the National Quality Control Award.
