For the second year in a row, PERURAIL and Apoyo Institute have worked together funding the program “Mathematics for everyone”  for  educational institutions for the communities Pachar, Chillca and Tanccac in Ollantaytambo district.  This year the program has grown to include the educational institutes San Juan Bautista from La Salle and Qory Inka from Qoryhuarachina community, both from the district of Machu Picchu. This year there are 18 teachers and 294 students who will benefit with this free program that Perurail provides them.

The first training and delivery of manuals for teachers was held on March 30th in the Ollantaytambo District Municipality auditorium. The training sessions are recognized by the Ministry of Education, and will be offered to teachers from first, second, third and fourth grade.  They will also be trained in Entrepreneurship so that they can develop comprehensive training with personal entrepreneurial characteristics.

Also, materials for students such as books and notebooks were delivered. Mathematics for Everyone is an innovative pedagogical program and its principal objective is to generate pleasure in learning math, as well as improve the performance of students in this subject which is fundamental for intellectual formation and personal and social progress.
