The area of Community Relations Perurail is oriented under the perspective of establishing sustainable relationships with communities, based on respect for their culture, tradition and identity. In this way we construct spaces of encounter and dialogue to make local projects come true. The basic conditions of sustainability are based on the search for strategic partners, capacity building within the communities in complementary relationships and no dependency, and finally a technical analysis of problems and opportunities.

Currently we have been working on the following projects:

Development Project of Productive Activities in Communities:

The communitiesof Tanccac , Primavera and Piscacucho, in the district of Ollantaytambo, are the scene of the program of development of productive activities, which aims to generate a variety of activities for members of these communities to increase their household incomes and improve their quality of life. It is in this context that Perurail, together with the NGO Ascender, developed four farms of 250 chickens in each, providing training in poultry rearing, technical monitoring, chickens and some food. And, moreover, promoted the cultivation of fruit trees 2 000 partnerships between community members trained in the cultivation and care of fruit trees

Medical Campaigns in Communities:

During 2010 Perurail, together with the NGO Ascender, developed campaigns designed to give medical care to the residents of various communities, as Piscacucho and Pachar, among others.

ECOSITE - Agroecological Training Center:

In the area of Machu Picchu is the ECOSITE, where agro-ecological training is provided free to young people from different communities who learn organic farming methods and adequacy of fitotoldos.

Each youngster selected to participate in training, in addition to the theoretical and practical courses, receive free room and board in the ECOSITE for a month.
