The 2008 operational model is the result of PeruRail´s efforts to be part of the plan to keep Machu Picchu, in other to follow up some suggestions from UNESCO and to attend some market request.

PeruRail has approved the following goals:

• Increase the capacity of seats to transport visitors to/from Machu Picchu.
• Drive a responsible flow of visitros to Machu Picchu, with more train frecuencies especially fron/to Ollantaytambo (In the Sacred Valley)
