Suspension of our rail operations

To public opinion:

  • PeruRail, in compliance with the provisions of Ferrocarril Transandino SA, the concessionaire of the railway, communicates the suspension of the operations of its train services on the route to Machupicchu Friday, December 11th, due to the standstill undefined protests in Machupicchu.
  • This measure prioritizes the safety of our passengers and workers to avoid posible blockade of the railroad by protesters.
  • The reestablishment of our operations will take place as soon as we receive the indications from the concessionaire Ferrocarril Transandino.
  • PeruRail will provide all the facilities for passengers who wish to reschedule their journey for the following days, being able to carry out reprogramming at our Ticket Offices in Cusco and our Call Center for remote purchases, at no additional cost and according to the availability of spaces.
  • For travel agencies, modifications will be made at our Ticket Offices at Wanchaq Station and Av. El Sol, in Cusco and subject to availability. Likewise, refund may be requested without penalty.

  • Finally, we inform that our company in extraordinary railway operation carried out on the night of Thursday, December 10th, proceeded to the evacuation of tourists and passengers who were in Machupicchu, before the protest measures were radicalized in the district.
