If you would like to take the tour on a different day than the train trip (except for the last Sunday of each month, when no guided tours are offered) please let us know in advance. Tickets may be requested for the specific day by sending an email to hirambinghamreservations@perurail.com. The ticket is valid for one day only. If you wish to travel up to the citadel with us on the bus (included in the train ticket cost), wait in the Belmond Hiram Bingham VIP room at the Machu Picchu Station at 12:20 pm. No individual bus tickets will be provided. Guests of the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge who wish to take the tour on a day other than that of their trip (except for the last Sunday of each month, when no guided tours are offered) should be waiting in the hotel lobby at 1 pm.

Bus up to and from the citadel of Machu Picchu
The bus trip to the entrance of the citadel of Machu Picchu takes approximately 25 minutes from the town of Machu Picchu. The bus reaches the citadel at approximately 1:10 pm, and the bus down arrives back in town at 4 p.m. for afternoon tea at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. The bus down to the town of Machu Picchu leaves the citadel at 4:45 pm

Tour with a professional guide (approximately two and a half hours)
The guided tour is for a maximum of 14 people. Should you require a private tour, please request it in advance by sending an email to hirambinghamreservations@perurail.com, and we will look into the possibility of arranging your tour, depending on availability. The tour is offered in Spanish and English. If you would like a tour in a different language, this will depend on the number of passengers (minimum 14). In case of smaller groups, PeruRail can help the passenger hire a guide in the requested language, in which case payment shall be made directly to the tour guide.
