The Regular Service is the transport service provided by PeruRail on the Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco route solely by between May and December. As a general rule, the following standards apply, although details may vary depending on the time of year that you are travelling, for example between January and April the train services may vary during the rainy season in Cusco, when part of the railway is closed for safety reasons to avoid possible contingencies as a result of landslides and PeruRail runs the Bimodal Service (Bus + Train) for the Belmond Hiram Bingham service.

When you arrive at the Machu Picchu Station (located at the town of Machu Picchu and not at the citadel) on the Belmond Hiram Bingham train, your tour guide will give you your admission tickets and accompany you to the bus station to leave for the Machu Picchu citadel (in the cases of a one-way or round trip). In the case of a return trip only, this only includes the bus back down to the town and Afternoon Tea and does not include the admission tickets to Machu Picchu, guided tour or upward bound bus. The bus ride is approximately 25 minutes. We recommend checking the “Service Details” on the Belmond Hiram Bingham for information on what is and what is not included, according to the type of trip: one way outbound, return only, or round-trip.
