ENJOY MORE TIME IN MACHU PICCHU WITH OUR BIMODAL SERVICE (BUS + TRAIN)

This new service combines bus and train travel, departing and returning to Cusco city. Available until April 30, 2017.

• Passengers using the Vistadome bimodal service board a private bus at Wanchaq Station, 5 minutes away from Cusco’s historic center, and alight at Ollantaytambo Station. Transfer to the train here and continue to Machu Picchu Station. The return journey is the same in reverse. For additional information regarding the service and a route map, please click here.
• Passengers using the Belmond Hiram Bingham bimodal service board a private bus at Poroy Station, 20 minutes away from Cusco’s historic center, and alight at Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado. From the hotel, join Belmond Hiram Bingham for the journey to Machu Picchu Station. On the return leg, passangers are dropped off at their accommodation in Cusco. Belmond Hiram Bingham operates daily except for the last Sunday of each month. For additional information regarding the service and a route map, please click here.

If you are looking for an adventure on your way to Machu Picchu at an unbeatable price, on a train with all the onboard comforts you could ask for, the Expedition train has just what you need.

The train cars of the Expedition train are steeped in the designs of Incan culture, making them the perfect way to start your trip to the Machu Picchu citadel. The Expedition gives you the chance to take in the unbelievable scenery and take incredible panoramic pictures of a journey unlike any other.

You will be waited on by a highly-trained staff member for the duration of your trip, offering you a hot or cold beverage and a snack made from Andean ingredients. If you wish, you’ll be able to take advantage of some onboard shopping, offering you everything you need for your visit to the Incan citadel.

Departures are scheduled everyday, with a variety of schedules and frequencies *.

CHANGE TO POROY TRAIN SERVICES JANUARY-APRIL 2017

Between January 2 and April 30, 2017, our Expedition trains with arrivals and departures scheduled from/to Poroy Station, will depart from Ollantaytambo Station. This modification will be implemented as a preventive measure that prioritizes the safety of our passengers during the rainy season. Regular train services departing and arriving to/from Ollantaytambo or Urubamba Stations will not suffer modifications.

regular service ?

The Regular Service is the transport service provided by PeruRail on the Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco route solely by between May and December. As a general rule, the following standards apply, although details may vary depending on the time of year that you are travelling, for example between January and April the train services may vary during the rainy season in Cusco, when part of the railway is closed for safety reasons to avoid possible contingencies as a result of landslides and PeruRail runs the Bimodal Service (Bus + Train) for the Belmond Hiram Bingham service.
