WHAT IS THE REGULAR SERVICE (TRAIN ONLY)? It is a service that transports only by train to Machu Picchu Pueblo. To do this, the passenger must arrive on his own at the station from where the train will depart. This is the most common service for those people who want to get to know the Inca Citadel, as it operates 365 days a year.
WHAT IS THE BIMODAL SERVICE (BUS+TRAIN)? This comprehensive option offers a bus journey from Wanchaq Station, just 5 minutes away from Cusco’s city center, to Ollantaytambo Station, where you will transfer to the train that will take you to Machu Picchu Pueblo. Regular service ?
May - December
The Regular Service is the transport service provided by PeruRail on the Cusco – Machu Picchu – Cusco route solely by between May and December. As a general rule, the following standards apply, although details may vary depending on the time of year that you are travelling, for example between January and April the train services may vary during the rainy season in Cusco, when part of the railway is closed for safety reasons to avoid possible contingencies as a result of landslides and PeruRail runs the Bimodal Service (Bus + Train) for the Belmond Hiram Bingham service.
