Lucho Quequezana brought music to Cusco’s Night of Light and Sound

Cusco, June 23, 2026

The Peruvian artist, recognized for promoting and celebrating the Andean sounds of Peru around the world, gave a special concert on Friday, 19 June, before thousands of people gathered in Cusco’s Main Square.

As part of the celebrations for Cusco’s Jubilee Month, thousands of people came together in the Main Square to enjoy a new edition of the traditional Night of Light and Sound, one of the most eagerly awaited events in the city’s festive calendar.

This year, the audience enjoyed a performance by renowned Peruvian musician and composer Lucho Quequezana, who presented a special show before thousands of attendees gathered in the Main Square. Through a musical proposal that blends traditional Andean sounds with contemporary elements, the artist delivered a performance that celebrated Peru’s cultural and musical richness, as part of PeruRail’s contribution to this important evening.

“For me, being part of such a special night, taking part in the Inti Raymi celebrations and performing in Cusco’s Main Square is more than an honour. It feels like a dream to be in a city with so much history, in the capital of the Empire, which continues to contribute so much culturally, musically, through textiles and dance,” said the artist.

In addition to taking part in this celebration, PeruRail also joined the Corpus Christi festivities and will be present at the Inti Raymi commemorations in Sacsayhuamán, expressing its recognition and appreciation for a region whose cultural legacy is one of Peru’s most important symbols before the world.
