Cusco, 30 December 2025 

In relation to the accident that occurred today, Tuesday, 30 December, at approximately 1:20 p.m., at kilometre 94, Pampacahua sector, on the Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo railway line, involving trains belonging to PeruRail S.A. and Inca Rail S.A., we report the following: 

• We deeply regret what has happened. PeruRail staff immediately provided first aid to the train driver, the train conductor and the passengers, activating emergency protocols and mobilising medical personnel to attend to the most urgent cases. 

• At this time, two motor coaches are evacuating the injured to the Piscachucho station, where ten ambulances are waiting to transport them immediately to the nearest hospitals and health centres. 

• We will continue to provide timely updates on the situation, prioritising the safety and well-being of our passengers and crew at all times.
