This year, we enthusiastically relaunched the “Discovering My Land” program in Arequipa, welcoming 117 participants —including students and teachers from Colegio Nacional San Juan Bautista, located in the districts of Yanahuara and Cercado – who embarked on a unique journey through the region’s most iconic landscapes.

Thanks to this initiative, participants had the opportunity to explore tourist attractions located at over 4,500 meters above sea level, strengthening their connection to local identity and fostering the preservation of natural resources.

During the trip, they visited the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve (RNSAB), the Pampa Blanca viewpoint, the Tocra wetlands, and the Reserve’s Interpretation Center. They were accompanied by a SERNANP park ranger, who shared valuable insights into the area’s biodiversity, including flora and fauna, and guided them in observing vicuñas in their natural habitat.

At PeruRail, we believe that understanding and valuing our environment is essential to protecting it. That’s why we continue to promote experiences that connect communities with their history, culture, and land.
