PeruRail thanks the entire community for their invaluable support during these difficult times. As a result of the train accident that occurred on 30 December 2025, 51 individuals, including our crew and passengers, were injured and received medical attention. Of these, 6 were treated on an outpatient basis and 22 have been discharged. Twenty-two injured people remain hospitalised and are in stable condition, and one is in intermediate care. All of them are receiving all the necessary support and constant accompaniment from our team.
Tourist train operations between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu resumed on 31 December 2025 with some delays until 4:00 p.m., when operations returned to their regular schedule. It is worth mentioning that 100% of our services operated and we transported all passengers with issued tickets.
