Cusco, 31 December 2025 

01:40 hours – PeruRail S.A. reports that at 01:35 hours we began evacuating passengers from the Machu Picchu and Ollantaytambo stations, following authorisation from Ferrocarril Trasandino S.A. to resume train traffic on the railway line.

We will begin by transporting those with tickets dated Tuesday, 30 December, giving priority to the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with disabilities, and we will continue the evacuation following the humanitarian protocol for emergency situations.

Injured workers and passengers are being treated at clinics and health centres in Cusco. We are helping passengers to reschedule their trips and making every effort to normalise our services as soon as possible.

We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased Inca Rail worker. We are with you at this time of profound grief.
